Kite Press Biography - June 1994

KITE are a Bath and London based band comprising of singer-songwriter Trevor Tanner who fronted "The Bolshoi", Jasper Stainthorpe bassist/songwriter with former "Then Jerico" and Ian Whitehead on drums and percussion.

With Tanner's stage presence, prolific songwriting and strong vocal delivery, Kite's line-up promises to capture audiences in territories all over the world.

The "Bolshoi's" status achieved mainstream success with Number 1 chart success as far a field as Brazil and Argentina and the Eastern Block. As a live band they supported the release of three albums with tours across the UK, US, S. America and Europe gaining a large fan base wherever they played.

"Then Jerico's" mainstream success extended from four hit singles and hit albums in the UK, to chart success in countries all over Europe, Japan and Australia.

kite have already created a buzz in the capitol with shows at the Marquee and other venues and have just completed their first album of material and are appearing at the 15,000 capacity Heineken Music Festival at Roundhay Park, Leeds on July 10th 1994.

Kite are represented by The Stranglers managers Trevor Long and Sil Wilcox c/o Main Street Management.
